I'm on an eating spree!

Ok, this is going to be a relatively short post. Hurray! I'm have triple blessings for this week. ^^

1. My father treated me to a Japanese restaurant yesterday. I finally got the name. It is called 'Ichiban Sushi'. Good food, good service, good money. Recommended by yours truly. =)

2. Going to eat later at JP swensens with my Form teacher- Mr. Ong! Hope the food will be good too =D. Thank you Mr.Ong for all your teaching, patience and most importantly, your friendship. I didn't treat you as a teacher but as a friend. Oh, the times when we went out to eat together and watched plays together, will forever be etched in my mind.

3. Going out tomoro to eat dinner with my aunt and cousin. She said she is going to treat me for my good results. Yay! For now, I hold the best score in my paternal family's side. But I have a younger cousin from SCGS. So expecting her to break my record, lol. For my maternal family's side, well...the best is 6 points i think. NJC. My dream school, lol.

Anyway, hope that we will enjoy the dinner. Venue not decided yet. Will decide tomorrow after service.

Ok, thats all. Going out to enjoy my meal. ^^

Congrats to everyone who did well for O levels. And for all those going JJC, I hope to see you soon!

The truth is out!

Ok, so here is my O level results.

English: A2
Combined humanities(Geography): C5 =(
E maths: A1
A maths: A1
Chemistry: A2
Physics: A2
Biology: A1
Chinese: B3
Chinese Oral: Merit

L1R5: 12 L1R4: 07

So, my comments. This year O levels is super weird. English is like everyone did so well. My friend got D7 for prelims and A1 for O levels. I got C5 for prelims and A2 for O levels. Unbelievable. Then sciences. All those get A1s for all 3 scienes get A2 for all 3 sciences! At least got 1 A1 for the 3 sciences. I cant believe it...Should get straight As 1.

Haix, I mugged so hard for combined humanities and did so badly. A bit disappointed. At least A1 for both maths. Too bad no A*s in O levels. LOL! If not maths is so owned. Everyone will get A*s in my class.

So, I'm going to JJC! Although it is a neighbourhood JC, at least it is a decent JC, to say the least. Hopefully I will be able to excel in there, given the present situation. Many people will be leaving for other JCs, especially those from Nan Hua and RV. Nice meeting all of them anyway. May we meet again in NUS. =)

Ironically, my father is pleased with my results. Probably because I won my older brother, who got 13 for L1R5 and he comes from a better secondary school than me. This proves that it doesn't matter which school you come from; just study hard and make your mark =P.

So, my father is going to treat me to dinner at a japanese restaurant in JP later. Forget the name le. Should be called Ichibang! or something like that. =X

Off to celebrate~

Prepared for any circumstances

Ah!! Tomoro O level results release. Panic. Anxiety. Worry. Fear. Apprehension. So negative...cancel cancel cancel.

Happiness. Excitement. Overjoyed. Faith. Euphoria! That sounds much better right? =)

Anyway, I'm skipping school tomorrow. That is why I have to time to post today. I'm going to play dota all night too =D. Dun worry, I will take care of my health. Will probably sleep around 12-1am.

So, to show you how prepared I am, check out the following:

L1R5(Raw Score):

6-7: NJC
8-9: ACJC
10-20: JJC
<20: Haven really thought about it. Hopefully wont have to resort to this.

So simple right? =D

I'm expecting around 12-15. But hopefully God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that I ask or think, according to the power that works in me. Even if
I don't score well, I will still thank God for the wonderful 4 years of secondary education, not forgetting the chance to be in the best class of the cohort, studying triple science and double maths. I LOVE MATHS!!!!! ^^

P.S: Ashley, if you see this, just want to tell you that JC maths is so kickless =P. Teacher teach till pg 3 I'm already at pg 9. Whahahahahah. =D

The light before the dawn, the dawn of truth

Ok, seems like there is a pattern in my posts. Yup, I am posting only once per week. Why? Don't ask me, cause I don't have the answer to your question all the time, especially this...Basically, I am quite busy these few days.( Now this is an opinion, not an answer).

But don't worry, I'm managing quite fine and definitely, I treasure weekends more than I have ever done so. Being able to go to Cell Group and Church is a privilege; some people in other parts of the world never even heard of the gospel before. So, thanks for the great friendship I have with everyone in CG and church, and I know words cannot express my gratitude fully.

This week is probably a memorable week. I am now a group leader overseeing group B. Under me are Rosalyn, Jenny, Ze xian, Ryan, Hui Wen and Eric. Some of them weren't informed yet, due to their absence during the CG. Thank God for placing us together in the same group. Romans 8:28 says that everything will work out for the good of God for those who love him. Simply put, everything we do is either a 'God-sent' or a 'God-used'. So even if we are going through tough times, he is using it to shape us and make us stronger. So hopefully, I will emerge stronger, bolder, sharper as a leader.

After CG, went to play badminton at Jurong West Sport Complex. It was certainly enjoyable as badminton is one of my niche areas. After we left the complex, I went back home and bath, change, etc. Then went to watch 'One Missed Call' with Hui Wen and Alfred. At first, I didn't know what the movie genre was and was clearly not very interested. Then I found out it was a horror movie by looking at the seemingly scary poster outside the cinema. Then I thought, ''Hmm, not bad, got kick.'' Lol! Then Hui Wen and Alfred keep covering their eyes, and I keep teasing them. ''There, the ghost going appear le, going to BOO infront of you! =P'' I had a great time, wahahaha. Then they say not scary meh, I said 'no kick la, I watched scarier movies before'. So thats about it.

Sunday

Woke up at 7.30am to go usher. This week, all the WYZ zone leaders gone for meeting, so all the helpers have to give de-breifing. Edwin asked me to give actually but my team I/c ask me to carry the trolley to transport the bulletins to B2. So in the end, angel gave. I didn't know what she said, but I missed the opportunity to try, aww.
Went home and I went to sleep, too exhausted already.

Then when I woke up, my father was like giving me the 'I'm afraid you have made a terrible mistake' look. He told me my hand phone bills exploded again. Yea, i think around 119 dollars. Haha...1st time since I got a handphone. Then I told him need to use handphone more often, cause now need to call members in my group, send sms, etc. Then I asked him if incoming calls free, he said ya, and I said cannot be, I never make so many dialled calls, only sms. Then he called singtel and found out the horrible truth. For my previous plan, he had to pay for incoming calls, and only 250 sms per month. He immediately changed the plan. Currently, incoming calls are free and 500 sms per month. Hmm, that sounds much better =).

Lastly, I'm going to receive my O level results this thursday, 24/01/2008, 2 p.m. Do pray for me to get good results, which is a single digit, lol. If cannot get then nvm, I will be more than happy to stay in JJC. Sort of have the sense of belonging already, after a mere three weeks. No stress, fun but a bit busy life in school. But I'm enjoying myself ^^. After all, it doesn't matter which institution you go to, be it the ITE, Polytechnic or JC. As long as you do your best there, and do yourself and God justice, everything's gonna be alright. Know that you have a purpose for being there, and it is not a coincidence; it is for a significant reason.

All the best for those taking O level results! =D

Pessimistically Optimistic-I believe, help my unbelief

Now I know why maintaining a blog is so tough, which I didn't consider when I started this blog last month. JC life is so busy!! Oh man, I'm so gonna break down any minute. Pst. Zhuang always say not to give up and to keep on keeping on, but saying that I'm totally fine is a blatant self-deception. For the 1st time since secondary 3(I think), I fell sick today! Just after 'Hi West', I went back home and rested on the massage chair; it is something similar to Sharon's. Then, predictably, I fell asleep due to exhaustion.

Then, when I woke up say 30 minutes later, I was shivering uncontrollably and ran upstairs to my bedroom and my parents were quite shocked to see me shivering like that. They covered me with THREE blankets and I was still shivering. Then after 1-2 minutes, I stopped shivering le, but I had a fever, and my headache was unbearable.

Then my mom gave me a panadol and I prayed that God will heal me instantly. Cause I still got chemistry tutorial to do, SD and excel format of Goal Card, and it was already 7pm. So I went to sleep and woke up at 8.30pm. Praise God! My fever was totally gone, no more headache, no more shivering and I can eat dinner and do all my work. Hopefully can share testimony next week.

Lesson learnt: Don't let the busyness of the world control your life; control the busyness of the world in your life. Somewhat similar to ''Don't let money control you; have control over money.''

Therefore, I'm gonna learn to prioritise my time and have better time management, especially now that I'm in a new environment and need to adapt to the JC lifestyle asap. Do pray for me that I will not fall sick again and I will be able to complete on my assignments on time, or even better, before time. =D

Your 'Once was sick, now am healed' friend,
Gary Neo

Moments into Memories, Memories we'll relieve

Oh man, it has been such a long time since I last posted. Can see many cobwebs lying around in my blog lers. I was too busy last week to post, with wed-sat in school camp and sun in church. I was too tired to post by the time I reached home on sun night. Ok, enough of my excuses...

1st week of school in summary: A brand new environment, brand new people, brand new route to school, brand new phase of my life, brand new me.

1st day of school: I was really enthusiastic for school to start and woke up very early, around 5.30am when I was supposed to reach school by 7am and it is approximately 10 mins walk away. Started walking to school at 6.17am and reached school by 6.30am. Met up with my classmates near the entrance of JJC. Then went to the school canteen to chat, etc. Then some people in green, presumely the OGLs( Orientation Group Leader) ushered us into the school hall.

At last, air-con, when I needed it the most. There were 30 OGs( Orientation Group) assembled in the hall. Then I went to my OG, which was OG23. Only one of my friends was in the same OG as me. So we went together and sat together. Our family was family 5 and the family colour was green.

At first, I dunno why I suddenly become very shy and don't want to talk to anyone except my friend. Everyone was giving me the 'this is not my top choice JC. I didn't study for prelims so I ended up here. Don't waste your time talking to me' look.

I also had that mentality at first, cause AJC was my 1st choice and I only needed 1 more point to get in, which was quite pitiful, T.T. Then no one talked to me during the first day of school in my OG, lol. And I also never take the initiative, which I should have. But nevermind, every cloud has a silver lining =).

1st day of camp: Came to school at 6.30am. Do all the subject registration and orientation camp officially began. Played some ice breaker games like whacko. Then had water games from 10am-12pm. Then had lunch and mass dance. Oh man, I really didn't like mass dance. We had to partner boy-girl and dance together, which includes holding of hands, twisting your partner, etc. For me, and many other I guess, it was probably the most awkward moment of the camp.
Then I act smart. I told my OGL I stomach ache, need to go to the toliet. Then he told me that he will accompany me. Uh no, mission failed. Actually I want to go hide some corner and come back after mass dance is over 1. Then in the end, partner with 1 female OGL. At least not so awkward. Then she asked me, '' Partner with me not shy, partner with your schoolmates shy?' Then I dotdotdot( nothing to say ). After that, we had dinner and night games. But the night games very short 1, less than 20 mins. Then the last event of Day 1 was the singing session.

This was probably the best event of the camp for me, cause I love music. But, before I know it, we had to stand boy-girl-boy-girl style in the lecture theatre(LT). It is like an auditorium, but a bit smaller only. Then the girls all very initiative, but I also got move, cause I know if I don't move first, eventually will end up with all those people who are not interested too.

Then we had to put our hands over the shoulders of our partners. At this moment, there was a huge commotion in the LT. But I have done it a lot of times le, so quite used to it. Then sang many friendship-love songs that are very mushy. Then the teacher-in-charge keep asking us to look at our partner eyes. Very hard to do that leh...what if something happens?...

But honestly, it was weird...got this seemingly good feeling when I put my shoulders over my partners and sang the songs together. I can't explain it using maths and science...hmm. After that, we went back to our bunk and slept.

Day 2: Ok, nothing much to share. Why? I fell sick and slept from 12pm-7pm. Period. Got headache and sinustis. Cant play the water games, which was from 1pm-5.30pm. So went to rest at the command centre. Then from 7pm-10pm, we had this event called JJ nite. It was supposed to be the most memorable and significant event of the whole camp. Got OGLs performance, mass dancing, song singing. Dun want to elaborate more, if not it will be a spoiler for those going JJ next time.

Day 3: Last day of the camp. Finally got people talking to each other le, including me. Then we had bonding sessions together. Then went to assembly in the hall at 12pm. Then the teacher in charge of the camp, Mr Chua, gave a very long talk, very touching one. Talk about appreciating our parents, our OGLs and everyone around us. Then sang this song, which I will never forget: We remember(Tonight). You can't find it on the internet cause it was written by the seniors.

Then a lot of people cried, including some OGLs. Then my OGLs, Justin and Zhi Sheng, gave all of us presents. It is a bottle containing a note, 2 sweets and an candle. Then we thanked all of our OGLs and bid farewell.

Whew, that sums up the 1st week of JC life. Finally able to get it off my chest.

Have to sleep now, if not tomoro fall asleep in LT5.

Good night all ^^

The Start of something new

Wow, cant believe that 2008 is here! Believe it man, it is written on over your emm...face?? Nah, it is written on over my calendar!

Went to Boon Lay Place to countdown with Hui Wen, Alfred, Pat, Chao Chung, Wayne and Samuel.( Did I miss anyone out?) Ashley was with us intially but left earlier and went to Angel's place to countdown.

The place is expectedly crowded, with an atmosphere of hmm...excitement? More of anticipation I guess, since everyone already knows what is going to happen. I said it once, and let me say again. We spent 3 hours waiting for a 5 seconds event. Its like the whole of Singapore waited for a long and tiresome 3 hours or more, for a mere TEN, NINE, EIGHT, SEVEN, SIX, FIVE, FOUR, THREE, TWO, ONE! Happy New Year! And then the ballons flew and myraids of fireworks started to explode over our heads.

Ok, I guess I'm not an exception =D. It is the process of waiting that makes the whole thing fun, I must agree. Took a lot of photos with my 1.3 megapixel handphone, which is quite redundant. (You get my hint, don't you? Hehe, if you haven't, can go buy nails and hammer le! =X) New phrase of the CG for 2008, created by none other than our beloved CG leader, Edwin Ong!! =)

After the countdown, Wayne, Chao Chung and Samuel left 1st. The rest of us stayed behind and they went to this soup station to play. Eww, I dun like to become sticky, not that I enjoyed being a wet blanket. Sry guys T.T. Then we went to walk around the pasa malang and they bought a lot of food! Cheese Sausages, Shark's fin soup, Candy Floss, Tapioca cake, etc. I recommend the cheese sausage, its superb man.

Then we walked home back from Boon Lay Place, took approximately 10 minutes. It was already 1+am by then. Then send them off at Lakeholmez when I continued on my lonely voyage. Very quiet, very errie. But hey, I'm a man. I'm not afraid of the dark. So, off I go...
Surprisingly, when I reached the Mrt station, there were still throngs of people waiting for buses and Mrts( obviously) to fetch them home. Then I reached home ard 2am. Btw, I was chatting with Wayne on my way home. Then he said good nite to me when I reached home. So touched by him...too bad he is a boy, if not I will woo him le. Jking, haha. =D

Then came home and Hui Wen sms me if can teach her maths. Of course I want to! Its like I been wanting to do so since the holidays started...till now. Then we played audition together from 2.45 to 3.45. Then her mother woke up and she off the com. Haha, so cute. Reminds me of myself when I was younger. Everytime my brother come back home, I off the main switch and laid on the bed, pretending that I'm sleeping.

Hmm, now so late le, but I'm still very energetic. My brother issn't at home, which he should be supposedly. Not intending to sleep intially, but guess that it would not be fufilled. Nothing else to do, no more activities. My brain is seemingly on auto shutdown mode. Yawns...count down.

FIVE, FOUR, THREE, TWO, ONE!

Off to bed I go ^^.

Wishing you all a very Happy New Year!
May all your dreams come true.

Will mine come true too?
