OGL Prep camp 1 ended today =)
I seriously love this camp very much, cause I made so many new friends and felt so bonded with my OG group. For the previous camps, I've always been the food attache and never get any chance to bond together with my OG group. Most of the time I was bonding with the food and the other food attaches, which were from different OG groups, so we weren't that close.
I think what Mr.Leow said is really true, tested and proven by me. I went to the camp being passionate and having positive attitude, enjoying every activity and enduring every training aka torture. Initially I was be afraid of not being able to talk to the people due to past experience, where everyone looks super bored and 'dao' me. But thank God, all my group members were so enthusiatic and even those who were not got influenced and soon everyone was having fun together, haha. =D
That is what makes a successful camp-the spirit of the people. If one person is doing a stupid act, he/she will appear stupid. But if everyone does that stupid act, it will become fun. I love the culture of JJC. It is so similar to church, where everyone is always cheering and encouraging each other as well. This is all thanks to Mr.Tan, the teacher in-charge of the 27th batch of student councilor, who is also from CHC. =)
I think the best way to feel belonged to a group is to become someone important to the group. I was in charge of choreographing the dance steps for our OG performance, and it was brain-sapping! Imagine a person with no background of dancing, other than parapara and mass dance, figuring out new moves for a song. Haha, that's me! =) Although there will be some editing at the chorus, but the moves for stanza 1 are perfectly ok! Yea!!! ^^
This is also the 1st school camp I'm getting some temptations. There was this girl who kept having eye contact with me. Initially I thought it was coincidence but everytime(ok maybe not everytime, 90% of the time) I turned my head I will see her looking at me. Furthermore, she is quite pretty and good to look at. So I will sometimes look at her too when she isn't looking at me. But I was afraid she will know I was looking at her too, so I pretended to look at something else whenever she turned her head, lol! It was really dramatic.
It was a tough battle between my flesh and mind. My flesh kept saying: "Look at her, it is alright. Or maybe you should introduce yourself and get to know her."
But my mind kept reminding me: "She is not a christian(from my discernment), remember what the bible said? Anyway you already like someone else in church."
So I was thinking through Wayne's thoughts. He said that if you like someone who is a non-christian, you befriend that person first and make sure the bond is super strong, then invite her to church. If the bond is super strong, she'll go wherever you go, lol. But that is hypothetically only. Not every situation will end up like that.
The bible tells us not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers for a reason. It is easier to be corrupted than to be made good. An example is a basket containing a good apple and a bad apple. Eventually the good apple will turn bad too. The theory of degeneration states that any matter that is left untouched, without any external or internal disturbance, will automatically degrade itself. Human being is a matter too, so I guess that is why we will always turn bad without proper guidance.
Conclusion: Don't fall in love with unbelievers, unless you are 100% sure they will become christians and you won't backslide. Wait for God to give you someone who isn't perfect, but best suited to you, lol! =D Like duh, no one is perfect...
Anyway I'm sure that this crush thing will fade away after orientation is over. But I really can't wait for orientation to start! So excited!! Woo!!
Team JJ from the west,
Team JJ is the best,
Team JJ strong,
We fight on, we will ever strive on.
JJ is the best!
JJ beats the rest!
So let this spirit carry on!
Woo I love to mass dance and cheer and serve the campers and become high! I think I'm going crazy soon, whahahah! =P
But, I still haven't finished my holiday assignments, and school is starting in 2 days time. I found out during the camp that there will be a block test for maths, chemistry and physics on tuesday, wednesday and thursday. I really feel like screaming if I'm at the beach, but too bad I'm at home and it is 1.27am. I think my maths and chem will drop from A to U, lol. 180° turn.
Nevermind, positive attitude. At least I'm not the only one who never do, wahahahah! =D
Thank you OG 1 for being so bonded together and making everyone feel a part of the group! I really hope we'll be together even after orientation and when we get our A level results together, we will rejoice about the good news together! United we stand, divided we fall!
